There are two pathways to help educators use Pathways Awarua with their learners and improve their own professional development.

How to use Pathways Awarua

These modules will help you navigate the interface and functionality available on Pathways Awarua for learners and educators. The learner interface will step you through learner pathways and how to view progress. The educator interface will step you through all pathways and educator functionality – how to create a class, invite learners, change passwords, track progress, print certificates and run reports.

The modules are divided into seven content areas:

  • Getting started: definition and frameworks associated with low level adult literacy and numeracy
  • Approaches: learner-centred adult education, including Māori concepts
  • Mapping: using the Learning Progressions to analyse the demands of your programme
  • Strategies: how to embed literacy and numeracy
  • Assessment: assessment tools
  • Teaching: planning and teaching
  • Evaluation: tracking progress of learners and self-reflection
